TABLES TURNED IN RUMANIAN POLITICS
NEW LIBERAL PARTY OF M. BRATIANO SECURES 328 SEATS By Cable. —Press Association. —Copyright BUCHAREST, Saturday. The election returns indicate that M. Bratiano’s new Liberal Government has won an overwhelming victory. The party has secured 328 Parliamentary seats, the National Peasants Party 46, and the minorities bloc 14. In the last Parliament M. Bratiano’s party had only 15 seats. A. and N.Z.Sun. A cablegram published on Saturday stated- The Vienna correspondent ol the “Dailv Mail” says despatches from. Bucharest describe the extraordinary methods which have been taken in l.umania to ensure the victory at the general election of the Prime Minister. M. Bratiano Opposition meetings have been forbidden throughout the country. Their election literature has been confiscated, and Socialist candidates in Transylvania have been imprisoned. Large numbers of Opposition voters have been called up for military training thus making it impossible for them to^vote. Other Oppositionists have been refused vetir.a papers »>:i various pretexts.
