MOSLEMS ATTACK HINDUS
BENGAL DISTURBANCES TROUBLE MAY SPREAD By Cable. —Press Association. —Copyright DELHI. Friday. Serious disturbances broke out in the Nadia district of East Bengal. A group of Moslems attacked a Hindu village. Many of the combatants were killed or injured. On the withdrawal of the Moslems the Hindus retaliated by burning houges of the former. Numbers of Moslems were burned to death. Since then isolated cases of stabbing have occurred. The situation is now well in hand and peace has been restored. There is great danger of the trouble spreading, however, as the antagonism between Hindus and Moslems is great view of the fact that the whole of India is celebrating the Mohurrug, the neatest Moslem festival. —A. and N.Z.
