Regents Secure All Paramount Features
New Dunedin Theatre BEAUMONT SMITH'S RETURN On his return from Sydney this week Mr. Beaumont Smith announced that the agreement with the Thomas O’Brien theatres would be terminated at the end of the year. Mr. Smith intimated that film supplies for next year for the Regent Theatres in Auckland, Wellington and Lunedin had been arranged by the securing of all Paramount releases. This was the service the theatres had featured last year. Next year the Regent Theatres would be entii'ely independent.
Mr. Smith has brought back with him the plans for the new Regent Theatre in Lunedin, which is to seat 2,000 people. The plans were prepared by Mr. C. Ballantyne, who designed the Auckland theatre.
