STORM ENDS THE PLAY County Makes 280 For Six rE cricket match between New Zealand and Nottinghamshire was drawn. New Zealand in its first innings made 277, and Notts had lost six wickets for 280, when a thunderstorm brought play to a close.

The first wicket fell at 92. Walker and Whysall made a fine stand, scoring 106 in 100 minutes. Both went out in the same over. Whysall batted for three hours. He was missed three times in the 60's. Lowry caught Carr brilliantly at long off, running 20 yards. When the New Zealanders’ total was passed after four and a-half hours’ batting, a heavy thunderstorm caused abandonment of the game.
