Olympia 1927

WHAT IT CAN ACHIEVE VALUE OF MOTOR SHOWS The object of holding- our annual A. and P. shows is to educate the public as to the extent that scientific farming can improve stock and crops generally. This applies to Olympia, the annual Motor Show staged by the members of the Motor Trade Association in Auckland, and by means of these shows they endeavour to educate the buying public, enabling therp to

to see the very latest product of the finest engineering brains of the whole world. Cars submitted for inspection are in every case standard factory production and when one compares our

present exhibits with those shown in our first Olympia, one must be struck with the great improvements made. There is no such thing as standing still. One must either progress or be left in this commercial age, and it is acknowledged the world over that mechanical transport has definitely ousted earlier methods of moving passengers and goods, from the day of the old bullock and mule teams at three miles an hour to present day transport of eight to 40 miles an hour. There is economy of labour, time, and running expense, which must necessarily be followed by greater productivity and greater earning power. These must both reflect on the healthy financial tone of our Dominion.

Olympia Motor Shows are held throughout the world, but more particularly in the lands of the car manufacturers, Great Britain, France, America, etc., and the importance of these Olympias is proved by their huge attendances. On such occasions the opportunity is also taken to hold conferences where different subjects of vital importance to the trade and their connection with the general public are fully discussed, and the buying public receive the gain as they reap a direct benefit. The manufacturer is always out to improve his models, and give the very latest and best to the car owner, and this must be achieved at the lowest possible cost owing to the keenness of competition in the car industry. Thus the public are offered through our Olympia Shows the latest in chassis and body designs at the lowest price commensurate with the quality offered, and the motor traders have every confidence that this Olympia will add to the lustre already borne by its predecessors.

Car importers and car-owners both benefit by the holding of Olympias, as where a healthy atmosphere of competition is existent it must create cleaner, straighter, and better business with the ultimate result that the general public get better protection, and more efficient service.
