GAMBLING IN GOLF
There have been some intriguing revelations in England as to the extent of gambling on golf, especially in “select” clubs near London. Recently, the tidy sum of £3,000 was at stake on a private match, and at many of these clubs it is said to be hard to get a game unless there is a “fiver” or a humble pound note up on the game.
