NORTH SHORE LIMOUSINES TO GO

BUSES ON ROAD AGAIN r p HE manager of the North Shore Transport Company, Mr. Weymouth, stated this morning that the limousine cars at present running between Devonport and Milford will be withdrawn after Saturday next. By the end of the week a total of 22 buses will be in use, of which from 15 to 17 will be on the Bayswater tun. It may be necessary to add more buses to the Devonport quota later, but It is thought that five will be sufficient for immediate needs. Mo.-:t of the 22 limousine drivers will be absorbed by the new system, since w ith shorter hours more men will be necessary. At the old barns taken over from Ihe Takapuna Tramway Company extensive alterations have been cartied out. New sheds have been built, and a bowser pump installed, while the entrance has been levelled off and metalled. Electric light and modern garage equipment have been installed, so that the best possible service can be maintained. It is intended to have 30 fixed stopping places along the Bayswater* Milford route, and an application has been made to the Takapuna Borough Council for permission to e~eot signs a t authorised nlaces along the road.
