THISTLE MEMBERS MEET PLAYERS SUPPORT CLUB COMMITTEE A special general meeting of the members of the Thistle Football Club wa * called last evening to consider the expulsion of the club’s officers and committee by the Auckland Football Association. Mr. F. Pickering presided over an attendance* of about 80 members, and the proceedings were not °Pen to the Press. At the conclusion the meeting, after the issue had been discussed fully by players a*nd officebearers, certain resolutions were carr,ed unanimously and were conveyed to fhe A.F.A. management to-day. It believed that the playing and other members endorsed the action of the club committee without a dissentient voice: The resolutions as drafted are tantamount to a cancellation of the c ' u h’s affiliation with the local association, if carried into effect. An intimation has been conveyed to ' Jr - Phil. Neesham, sole selector fipr Auckland, that no Thistle players are bailable for the New Zealand representatives in the third Test match Against Canada on Saturday next, un®Bß a change in the present impasse ccurs. The other senior clubs are made acquainted of the situation nd an extraordinary general meeting * members of the A.F.A. will probably j* conv ened to discuss the threatened .?Pture. Individual members of the nistle executive who have come under | e ex Pulsi°n ban are taking action to .. J* the decision, and an appeal to * y ew Zealand Council for a final mict on the issue is certain.
