A new motion picture writer was developed in “The Wild Horse Stampede,” latest Universal western starring Jack Hoxie. She is Doris Malloy, formerly secretary to the general manager of the studios. She had attended many “story conferences” held by writers and studio officials, and determined to become a writer herself. When the magazine story on which “The Wild Horse Stampede” was founded was purchased by the company, she submitted her own screen adaptation of it. The adaptation was so well done that it was purchased by the scenario department, and used as a basis for the picture.
