“TORIES OUT-TORIED”
MR. VEITCH’S SPEECH MR. PARRY SPEAKS OUT (THE SUN'S Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. The speech which the member for Wanganui, Mr. W. A. Veitch, made in the House last week, was attacked by Mr. W. Parry, who, in referring to it said: “Reading the speech, and knowing that it comes from a man with a progressive mind ” Mr. Veitch; Hear, hear. Government members: Oh! Mr. Parry (quickly) : A man who had a progressive mind, anyhow. It was now the turn for Mr. Veitch to say “Oh!” and the Government to say “Hear, hear,” while laughter from all sides of the House greeted the outburst. Mr. Parry: The speech of hon j member, to say the least, out-TorieJ I the Tories. I can say nothing else.
