SUCCESSFUL TROTTERS
A fine feature of the season’s statistics is the prominent part played by trotters, no fewer than seven disciples of the square-gaited game having their names inscribed on the winning honours of over one thousand sovereigns. When it is considered that the stakes offering for the pacing fraternity are based much higher than for the trotters, the efforts of the successful seven are all the more creditable. The unhoppled performers that earned such good money this season are Peterwah (£1,850), Escapade (£1,640), Waikaha (£1,470), Moneyspider (£1,370), Elzear (£1,170), Charles Dixie (£1,085), Betty Moko (£1,010).
