BOUND MAN’S PLUNGE INTO THE HARBOUR
WATER TOO COLD SANITY IN QUESTION SPYING his feet together with a handkerchief, Charles John Lynch, aged 44, jumped off one of the wharves last night. This morning he was charged at the Police Court with attempting to commit suicide. Senior-Sergeant Edwards said that the man was not quite normal. Apparently, he found the harbour too cold because he called for help and clung to the wharf piles. Lynch was remanded for a week for medical observation.
