WALKED ABOARD THE AORANGI WHILE DRUNK
STOWAWAY’S EXCUSE Boarding the Aorangi at Sydney while drunk, George Lawrence Tahley, aged 26, was carried to New Zealand without a ticket. % He pleaded guilty at the Police Court this morning to a charge of having stowed away on the ship. Senior-Sergeant Edwards said that accused stated he walked aboard the ship while drunk. A cable had brer, sent to Tabley’s father in Sydney, and it was expected that his fare would be sent back. Accused was remanded until Thursday.
