LADY MOTORISTS MAROONED
Mrs. Gladys Sanford, of Auckland, and Miss Stella Christie, of Thames, who are attempting to create a record by motoring unaided from Darwin to Adelaide, were marooned for three weeks at Borrow Creek, a desolate part of Central Australia, according to cable advice received.
The ladies ran out of supplies f and were forced to ride 65 miles to the nearest post office to advise friends of their wheerabouts.
