ONE WAY OF PAYING A BILL
COME people pay their liabilities by cheque on the 20th of the month; some by small instalments on Friday nights; ; while some do not pay at all. But “that’s one way of paying a bill," remarked a passenger on the Remuera tram this morning, as he whistled to his creditor, and then, from the moving tram, threw half-a-crown and a pound note on the roadway for the creditor to gather up. The creditor’s face beamed. In fact he looked so pleased that the account must have been of some age.
