SUCCESSFUL HUNT MEET

PAKURANGA CLUB’S ENJOYABLE OUTING ON SATURDAY Followers of the hounds spent a most enjoj-able time at Papatoetoe on Saturday afternoon. when the Pakuranga Hunt Club held another successful meet. SCENE OF OPERATIONS The scene of operations was Mr. W. McLaughlin’s farm, Puhunui, which provides excellent ground for the sport under wet weather conditions. Despite the recent heavy rains, the hilly country around the Puhunui Mountain was appreciably dry. while the numerous stone-walls added to the interest and excitement of the runs. Hares were abundant, but owing to plentiful cover runs were of short duration. APPRECIABLE HOSPITALITY Followers and friends were most hospitably entertained at afternoon tea at the homestead by Mr. and Mrs. McLaughlin. Dr. Grant, deputymaster, who was in charge of proceedings in the absence of the master, expressed the appreciation of all present at the kindness and thoughtfulness of the host and hostess. Le Quesne), b g, 4yrs, 8.11 \ LE CHOUCAS, 9.4 * TRELFERN, 8.6 * Seventeen started. In a great finish Maksiccar won by a long head from Le Choucas and Trelfern, who ran a dead heat for second place.
