THOSE SLOW HORSES!
HOSTILE DEMONSTRATION By Cable —Press Association. —Copyright Reed. 1.10 p.m. SYDNEY, To-day. Following his defeat on the previous Saturday at Moorefield Park, a section of the crowd on Saturday last made a hostile demonstration against McCarten, when he rode The Thorn to victory in the Rosehill Handicap. The demonstration apparently was the outcome of an impression that had the horse been ridden at Moorefield as it was at Rosebill. he should have won. Newspaper criticisms, however, show that McCarten made most of his chances in both races. The “Daily Guardian," commenting on Le Choucas's two seconds at Moorefield and Rosehill respectively, suggests that with a more skilful rider than Bagby up. Le Choucas should have won both races.—A. and N.Z.
