FARM-HOUSE DESTROYED
NO BRIGADE IN DISTRICT A farmhouse at Paknranga, owned and occupied by Mr. R. A. Thompson, was destroyed by fire about one o’clock yesterday afternoon. The fire, which is said to have started in the kitchen, spread rapidly through the house. The building, a two-storeyed concrete structure, could not be saved as there is no fire brigade in the district. The house was insured for £1,400, but there was no policy on the furniture or effects.
