SCHOOLGIRL KILLED
DUNEDIN FATALITY Press Association. , DUNEDIN, Friday. A MOST distressing accident occurred just outside the Kensington School about 2 o’clock this afternoon, when Lila Jones, a little girl, eight years old, was knocked down and killed. Mr. Gardiner, of Green Island, was driving his motor-lorry south along Bridgman Street, when the girl ran out from behind Harraway’s lorry which was standing by the footpath. The wheel of Gardiner’s lorry went right over the girl. As the second lorry was standing right in front of the gate, Gardiner had a very obscui’ed view. The little girl lived at 11 Waverley Street. An inquest will be held.
