Hacks and Ponies Not Wanted.— Approximately 100 horses were offered at Alfred Buckland and Sons’ monthly horse fair, held at Pukekohe this week. Seventy-five per cent, of the offering was quitted at prices on a par with late sales. Heavy young draughts made from £25 to £3O; active farm sorts, £ls to £23 10s; aged plough horses, £lO 10s to £l6; hacks and ponies, in little demand, £2 to £8 10s.

Westfield Store Sale.—A heavy entry of both dairy and store cattle faced buyers at the Westfield store sale this week, and the demand for the better quality dairy cows close to profit was firm. Maid’s Welcome Rosa, by Combination’s Loch Lomond, out of Bilberry Royal Maidrealised the highest, price (29gns) and went to Mr. R. Jury, of Tikorangi-Twenty-seven guineas bought Galicia’s Handsome Girl, by Jessie’s Register of Melrose, out of Bay View’s Galicia, which went to Mr. J. M. Stewart of Morrinsville. The average price for the cows was nearly 16gns, and that for the heifers 12gns. Beside the pedigree stock a large number of grade cattle was sold and bought very fair prices. Waikato Pig Values.—Both storeafld fat pigs are meeting with a good demand in the Waikato.
