A SOCIAL EVENING
An enjoyable social evening took place in the Orange Hall at Ngaruawahia recently, on the occasion of the first dance of the season held under the auspices of the Ladies’ Croquet j Club. / A large number of members of the club and their friends were present, and danced to cheery music provided by Mrs. j Gerring, the Misses Griffiths, McGruer and Dr. Isdale. A dainty supper was provided and dispensed during the evening by the ladies of the committee. J Throughout the winter season these happy little dances will be conducted regularly by the croquet club. If cork bath-mats, etc., are rubbed with a little methylated spirit their ap- j pearance will be improved.
