The Famous Hartley & Riley It is well known that this stretch of the river bed carries good gold, as was proved in 1862 when Messrs. Hartley and Riley, two miners suffering terrible hardships, panned off in dishes and cradled out 871 b. weight of gold in one winter. Later the small dredges obtained wonderful results, but the dredges were incapable am l totally inadequate to successfully work this 9-mXhe stretch and nothing but a powerful, up-to-date dred'ge is capable of getting the gold out of the deep crevfijces and breaking-up the rock bottom of the river bed. A Leviathan Dredge The Company is planning to build the most modern and most powerful electric river dredge cf its kind, in the world, and this will be acquired at a cost off round about £50,000. This new dredge, which will 7oe fully capable of dredging 55ft. below the waterlime and of tearing up the rough crevices on the river bofAom, will, it is practically certain, be operating next winter. A Wonderful Opportunity for all This i’s a Limited Liability Company and you are liable only for the nominal value of the number of shares you Y.ake up; therefore, if you apply for 400 shares, you are liable only for 400 shillings (£2O) and no more. Thjfr; presents a wonderful opportunity of taking part in an unusually attractive proposition. Wonderful Prospects of Success Cl wing to the fact that the Company has now secured a 'further 6 miles of river, making 9 miles in all, wonderful prospects of rich returns are now practically assured. The fact that in the past such wonderful returns have been secured from the bed of the Molyneux River with small, light dredges will give some idea of what must be expected when the Company’s new dredge gets working. Even with the old light dredges merely scratching, weekly returns of over llOOoz. were obtained on more than one occasion. Summed up, the prospects for success of the new Company are wonderfully bright. The fact that large numbers of applications for shares are being received from the South Island, and from Otago in particular, give some indication as to the faith Southern investors have in the proposition. Several thousand pounds worth of shares have already "been applied for and taken up, and early application on the part of intending investors is necessary. Easy Terms of Payment Every man and woman should apply at once for a parcel of these shares.
