MISSIONARY CAMPAIGN

REPRESENTATIVE SPEAKERS COMMITTEE’S ARRANGEMENTS A missionary campaign on similar lines to that held recently in Scotland has been commenced by the Presbyterian Church in New Zealand. The effort is under the direction of the Rev. G. H. McNeur, who spent 25 years in the Canton Villages Mission, which he founded. Accompanied by a group of missionaries representing China, India, and the New Hebrides, as well as our own Maori and honie missions, Mr. and Mrs. McNeur will tour New Zealand, calling at all the churches of each presbytery. Special church services and Bible class addresses will be delivered. Conferences are to be held in the centres, after which the speakers will separate and go through the various districts addressing special rallies.

The campaign began in Invercargill at the end of April, and has been carried on with good results all over the South Island. The delegates are at present touring the Wellington and Taranaki provinces. They are expected to arrive in Auckland on July 23, and will begin the campaign here on the following day. The Rev. Frazer Barton, ot St. Stephen’s, Ponsonby, is convenor of the committee, which is arranging tne programme to be carried out in Auckland.
