THE ABATTOIRS ACT
AMENDMENTS CONTEMPLATED (THE SUN’S Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, To-day. Amendments to the Abattoirs Act are contemplated by the Government, and will be brought down later in the session. This was announced by the Minister for Agriculture, the Hon. J. Hawken, who was asked in the house by Mr D. G. Sullivan if the Government proposed to adhere to the request for legislation that would give municipal bodies power to go ahead and raise loans for necessary improvements and extensions without having to approach the ratepayers. This matter, Mr. Sullivan said, was one of urgency in his district.
