FARMERS’ UNION
At the last meeting of the Waikato Sub-Provincial Executive of the Farmers’ Union the secretary, Mr. J. Gilbert, reported that definite progress had been made in the direction of establishing a co-operative pig marketing association. There were now l'l dairy companies willing to become members of the association and negotiations were in progress with two more to make up the 15 required for incorporation. It was decided to make arrangements for the delegates to the forthcoming Dominion conference to address members of the recently formed Te Awamutu branch on matters affecting organisation. The president welcomed back Mr. R. D. Duxfield as a member of the executive and also extended a welcome to Mr. F. Higginson, Whatawhata. An effort will be made to form a woman’s branch of the union in Hamilton and Mrs. Poison will be asked to address a meeting.
