AMERICANS ENTERTAINED MORE WEARYING THAN THE FLIGHT By Cable.—Press Association. —Copyright HONOLULU, Thursday. The two United States Army airmen, Lieutenants Maitland and Hegenberger, who flew from California to Honolulu, were faced with a social programme to-day more wearying than the flight. Beginning with a morning call on the Governor, the day ended with a dinner and dance in their honour. The airmen will not receive the usual financial returns of long-distance aviation. The prize of £5,000 offered for the Hawaiian flight does not become effective before August 1. and they have declined an offer of £2,000 to write their experience of the flight. —A. and N.Z.
