RELIEVING BROADWAY TRAFFIC CONGESTION
COUNCIL DISCUSSION The question was asked at the Newmarket Borough Council meeting last evening how the plans were progressing for the formation of a new thoroughfare to relieve the press of traffic in Broadway. It was stated that it would be. some time before the scheme be before the council. There was a difficulty in working out the costs. The suggestion was made that this scheme would come under the scope of the Town Planning Act and that it should be placed before the committee of Greater Auckland local bodies to meet under the auspices of the director of town planning on July 11. Each local authority should prepare its plans for street improvements to lay before a regional committee.
