END OF DAIRY POOL
BOARD’S DECISION ABOLITION OF CONTROL BACK TO FREE MARKETING Press Association. WELLINGTON, Thursday. The decision of the Dairy Produce Control Board to abolish absolute control was arrived at to-day, the board rising at 1 p.m. after being in session since yesterday morning. Mr. T. C. Brash, secretary of the board, made the following statement: "The Dairy Control Board decided to-day that the pooling of the returns for creamery butter should terminate with butter graded up to and including April 30, 1927, when the second creamery butter pool ended. The pooling of cheese and whey butter returns will end with cheese and whey butter graded up to and including July 31, 1927. The board has already abolished price-fixing and it now abolishes pooling of butter from April 30, and cheese from' July 31. Individual factories, it is understood in the trade, will have free marketing and the power to sell t.o.b. or to consign to any market as their directors decide.” There were present at the meeting Messrs. W. Grounds (chairman), T. A. Winks, W. A. lorns, J. R. Thacker, W. Bryant, J. R. Corrigan, W. D. Hunt, H. D. Forsyth. W. Goodfellow, W. Claud Motion, T. M. Timpany and W. E. Reynolds. The members of the London agency, Messrs. lorns and Motion, submitted reports and the points mentioned were dealt with in general discussion. At its next meeting the board will go into the question of limited control.
