The debate on the Trade Disputes and Trades nions Bill was resumed to-day in committee In the House of Commons. Mr. A. The amendment was defeated by 190 votes to 77. Coonel J. Gretton, Conservative member for Stafford, moved an amendment to class as a political fund money used to pay the election expenses of M.P.’s and members of municipalities, or to finance newspapers.

The Solicitor-General, Sir Thomas Inskip, said that while he did not view this amendment unsympathetically, the Government did not desire needlessly to open up wide fields of controversy. Sir H.
