WORLD’S ROAD TITLE
AMATEURS AND PROFESSIONALS This year amateurs and professionals will compete together in the classic “World’s Road Championship.” The U.C.I*, the governing body of cycling in the world, has decided by 64 votes to 36 that the big race will be contested by numbers of both amateur and professional clubs. In the event of an amateur winning, the first professional to finish may call himself the world’s road champion, and vice versa. There was big opposition from England and America against the holding of this race.
