UNION RUGBY
AID FOR COUNTRY CENTRES LEAGUERS REINSTATED With a view to continuing its policy of fostering the game in the country Unions, the management committee of the Auckland Rugby Union decided last night to make application to the N.Z.R.F.U. for a grant towards the cost of a visit to the Bay of Plenty district, this union having requested the Auckland Union to send a team on a ten days’ trip. The 'Waitemata Club wrote entering a senior team in the Auckland competition, stating that the side would include Swanson players, who were under the jurisdiction of another union. A reply will be forwarded to the effect that a team playing under the W’aitemata Club could not be accepted Until such time as permission was obtained from the Kaipara, North Auckland and New Zealand Rugby Unions to allow members outside the judisdiction of the Auckland Union to Play under its auspices. The Auckland Union, in any case, could not play all inatches at Swanson. J* H. Keenan, L. Phelan, G. Madden, R. a. Hargraves, of the Tramways Club, and T. Heard, of the CityClub, were granted reinstatement from the League code, subject to confirmation by the New Zealand Union. On the recommendation of the jerseycommittee, it was resolved to allow the City and Otahuhu Clubs to register the same colours for this season, City to play in neutral colours, supplied by union, whenever it meets Otahuhu. The meeting also resolved to put the two teams in different sections where Possible, in order to obviate the neccs--B*ty of neutral jerseys.
