DRUNKEN MOTORIST
CAUGHT AT WAIHI ESCAPES WITH A FINE (From Our Oxen Correspondent.) + WAIHI, To-day. A man named Leo Roy Devenish was charged* before justices this morning with being drunk while in charge of a motor-oar. pleaded guilty. Sergeant Mac Lean pointed out the dangerous practice which was arising. The accused came from Auckland, and was an advertising eo~^nsser. A conviction w-~ entered, and a fine of £5, with £1 costs, imposed. His companion. R. Armstrong, was charged with drunkenness, and was convicted and fined 6s.
