ANGLO-AUSTRALIAN SERVICE
RATES ANNOUNCED
By Cable. —Press Association. —Copyright Recvd. 10.15 a.m. LONDON, Tuesday. The Anglo-Australian Beam Wireless Service will be opened for public traffic on Friday morning. The new service places London in direct communication with Melbourne. At the outset it will be available only for telegrams to and from Australia, at rates varying from 20 pence a word for an ordinary telegram, to sixpence a word for deferred daily messages and five pence a word for week-end letter telegrams. Ordinary Press messages are to be carried at fourpence and deferred Press messages at threepence a word. —A7 and N.Z.
