“VARSITY” TOWN OF FUTURE (From Our Own Correspondent.) PALMERSTON NORTH, To-day. The future which may be Palmerston Xorth’s as a great educational centra was envisaged by the retiring mayor, Mr. F. J. Xathan, at a function given by him to mark the final meeting of the old council for the term now concluding. Touching upon the Government’s decision to have an agricultural college established at Fitzherbert, the mayor stated that he had no doubt but that a full-time agricultural university would be stablished there, to bo followed by a training college in Palmerston Xorth for teachers. When the? former institution was built, concluded the speaker, it would provide a wonderful array of buildings, for he had inspected the architects’ plans. *
