INCREASED ACTIVITY DEMAND FOR DEBENTURES Increased activity was registered on the Auckland Stock Exchange at this morning’s calls. quotations for the , better classes of stock having a rising tendency. Bank of New South Wales have hardened, and a sale was reported to-day at £49 17s 6d, probably an , Auckland second for these stocks. Auckland Gas are active and several parcels are changing hands at £1 3s Id. In the miscellaneous Checker Taxi show a tendency to harden, and Ton, son and Garlick are settling down to more stable quotations after the fluctuations earlier in the week. Most other stocks in this class are quiet. Mining are mostly idle. Increased demand is recorded for debentures with few sellers quoting. Several Government Bonds hardened at mid-day quotations.
