PASSENGER INJURED IN JUMPING OFF RUNAWAY TRAM

DUNEDIN, To-day. An electric tram got out of control through the brakes failing as the car came down the steep hill at Opoho, North-east Valley. The motorman regained control later; but Thomas W. Hall, 34, a married man, jumped off as the tram ran down the hill, and received injuries to the head. He is in the Dunedin Hospital.
