SATISFACTORY FINANCE
MOUNT ROSKILL POSITION Prior to publishing its official balance-sheet, now in course of preparation, the Mount Roskill Road Board last night issued a brief statement as to its financial position. This indicated that the financial year closed with the whole of the board’s accounts in credit, and that the income under general account had increased for the year by £I,OOO. Considering that the rates were now lower than last year, such increase must be accepted us satisfactory. Moreover, the assets of the board will be greater this year than in the previous year, as considerable difficulty had been experienced in collecting the rates, \and quite a number of the ratepayers had sought extension of time for payment. The water supply account would probably remain just about the same as last year, despite the fact that the water to each consumer was reduced 4s per annum. .
