BUILDING RECORD IN WELLINGTON
TWO-MILLION MARK Press Association. WELLINGTON, To-day. The tremendous building activity within the city area is illustrated by the building figures for the past 12 months, which reveal that for the first time in history the value of buildings reached the figure of £2,031,994,‘which is £105,164 greater than the value of permits issued in the previous financial year. During March, 192 permits were issued, of a total value of £227,043.
N.S.W. Coal Dispute. —The miners on the Northern coalfields of New South Wales have not yet resumed work. All the industrial disputes have been settled, but some of the workings are not ready for a resumption of work, and others are still idle because trade is slack. A general resumption of operations is expected this week.— A. and N.Z.
