WHANGAREI ANNUAL MEETING ELECTION OF OFFICIALS (From Our Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, To-day. The annual meeting of the Whangarei Rugby Union was held last evening. Over fifty delegates and supporters were present. The report stated that during the season 22 teams, representing about 360 players, apart from primary school teams, topk part in the union’s competitions. Kensington Park was fully occupied and in order to relieve future congestion the committee endeavoured to secure the lease of a suitable ground from the Whangarei Harbour Board, the matter still being under the consideration of that body. The report also recorded that when the committee took office at the beginning of last season it found that the balance-sheet for the previous season had not been audited by the union’s auditor, and whereas the general fund showed a credit balance of £3 11s Id, it was found that there were outstanding accounts totalling £l7 Is Id to be met. These obligations were met and the union made a profit for the year of £lO 0s 3d. The report and balance-sheet were adopted without discussion other than complimentary remarks. The election of officers resulted: Patron, W. Jones, M.P.; president, R. Worner: vice-presi-dent, W. Proctor; treasurer, H. J. Revell: secretary, W. Conaghan; management committee, G. W. "W ilding, A. Fulljames, W. J. Thorpe, C. Collins, W. Proctor. R. Worner; senior selector, F. Little; junior selectors, Chissell, Boggs and A. Fulljames; third grade selectors, left to the management committee to appoint. Delegates to North Auckland Rugby Union, R. Worner and R. Proctor. The date of the opening of the season was left in the hands of the management committee; also the revision of insurance payments and the question of "home and home” matches, which drew forth keen discussion.
