EMPIRE CHALLENGE CUP.
Town v. Country Game At Siiitford To-morrow. BRIGHT FOOTBALL EXPECTED. Bright football fchould be provided at the Town v Country junior Rugby match for tbe Empire Challenge Cup, to take place at the Victoria Park ground to-morrow. Competition among the Central division junior teams has been particularly close this season and the championship might go to any one of the throe or four teams. The majority of the marches have been closely fought and have been characterised by hard clean football with a high standard of back play. The evenness of the leading foams indie competition has had the effect of keeping the players right up to the nark and the average standard of physical fitness in the junior grade compares more than favourably' with tb<::. :i! th.-- senior players. Dash and initiative have been looked for by the selectors in choosing the teams this year, and there is no doubt that if the weather conditions are in any way favourable the match will provide a first-class exhibition of clean open football played "at top pace. During the last four years competition for the Empire Cup has been very keen and the holders, the Town team, were hard pressed last year, the game ending in a draw. Country reams have been well up in the competition this season and their challenge tliif year is probably the strongest yet made. After the game the teams will be entertained by the Central Division Junior Rugby Executive at a dinner in the Empire Hotel.
