j Stratford Plays Out Draw (■’ With Moturoa. | THISTLE DEFEATS ALBION. j Stratford and Moturoa fought | out a one-all draw in the northern ( Division, Julian Cup game at Stratj ford on Saturday. In the other ; northern division game Thistle defeated Albion 4-2. STRATFORD v. MOTUROA. Fast, keen football was provided in this game. Moturoa bad the terrii torial advantage in the first spell and { obtained the first goal. Their backs I proved reliable and their halves fed j the forwards effectively. Stratford’s forward movements lacked finish and the ball was kicked behind or out when it should have been sent to the centre and inside forwards. In the second half Stratford, through better play by the backs and halves, were pressing all the time and i undoubtedly should have won the j match. I Dan Clarke’s long grass kicks were | a feature of the match, and Les. Jones, j Jackson and Clements played well. Alj thought V. Henderson, centre forward, j had numerous opportunities, he was j well marked and never found the goal.
i Stratford’s only score came from a I dribbling rush by L. Jones. I In the Moturoa ranks, P. Gardner j Avas outstanding on attack and defence j and both Anderson and Roper, the j full-backs, played a solid game. Their j kicking and placing was particularly good. Curtain-raiser. \ Moturoa and Midhirst primary schools played a curtain-raiser. After a keen- closely-fought game, Moturoa j Avere victorious by 2 goals to 1. Mr. J.
