Simenchuk Sentenced To Death By Soviet.
Press Association —Copyright. Moscow, May 23. I. D. Simenchuk, director of the research station on Wrangel Island, who was charged with cruelty to the inhabitants, was to-day sentenced to death. He wept when he heard the verdict. Startsev, described as Simcnchuk’s “Man Friday,” who murdered Dr. Wulfson, was also sentenced to death. Ho smoked a cigarette while the court applauded the verdict.
