Earthquake Felt At Wellington On Sunday.
Press Association —Copyright. Wellington, To-day. An earthquake, ths centre of origin of which was 280 miles away to the east of New Zealand, occurred at 3.3 a.m. on Sunday, it approached figure 5 on the Ross;forel scale. An examination of the record on the Seismograph at the Do. minion observatory indicates that the quake was fairly deep-seated. The estimated distance is corroborated by the fact that it was felt at a varying intensity over a wide area in the D-ominion.
