Earthquake Felt At Wellington On Sunday.

An earthquake, ths centre of origin of which was 280 miles away to the east of New Zealand, occurred at 3.3 a.m. on Sunday, it approached figure 5 on the Ross;forel scale. An examination of the record on the Seismograph at the Do. minion observatory indicates that the quake was fairly deep-seated. The estimated distance is corroborated by the fact that it was felt at a varying intensity over a wide area in the D-ominion.
