With several new 'players in its ranks the team failed to show its usual combination, and during most of the game Thistle had the upper hand. Profiting by .Stratford’s mistakes and certain weaknesses in their defence, the New Plymouth team piled up a lead of four goals by half-time. Beckett, the Thistle centre-forward, was particularly dangerous throughoui the spell, and he had the Stratford goalie sadly bustled. Thistle’s first score came when R Rae passed to J.
