ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL.
o STRATFORD GAME NOT PLAYED. Thistle team decided not to travel to Stratford to play the opening match of the Julian Cup competition and telegraphed accordingly. Si ratford team was ready to play but it is understood that they do not intend to claim the match points. The official position will be considered at the Taranaki Football Association meeting this' week. Results of the opening matches of ■the Southern division of the Julian Cup competition were; — Hawera A 2 v. Auroa A 1. Hawera B 6 v. Manaia 2. Auroa B a bye.
