Cricket of a bright and venturesome type was provided in the Plunket Shield match between Otago and Wellington which commenced at Carisbrook to-day. The wicket offered batsmen every opportunity of making runs and only a north-easterly breeze gave bowlers any assistance The luck of the toss went with the visitors who made good use of their advantage, scoring 319 in fast time.
