CUSTOMS RETURNS SHOW LARGE INCREASE

The continued buoyancy of trade is indicated in the returns of the Customs Department at Christchurch for the last month. As in the returns for the other months of this year, the figures show an increased revenue from imports in nearly all sections and a considerable increase again in sales tax.
