NEW ZEALAND ASSOCIATION’S MEETING

The annual meeting of the New Zealand Hockey Association was held tonight. The chairman, Mi - ; H. S. J. Goodman, said the year had • been most successful. He remarked especially on the progress the game had' made on the West Coast.

The annual report said the finances were in a' satisfactory condition. Income had exceeded expenditure by £ll2, which left the accumulated fund at £420. , ! "\'

Referring to the visit of the Indian team the report stated that the team would be representative of the whole of India and certainly the best team, that had ever visited New Zealand. The association had to accept heavy financial responsibilities'to arrange the tour but it was hoped that the team would prove such an attraction that the response of the public would be' generous. Hockey would receive great stimulus ahd the' standard of play sHould' be improved.

The election of officers resulted:—Patron, His Excellency the Governor-Gen-eral; presidents, Mr. H. S.‘ J. Goodman; vice-presidents, presidents' of affiliated association's; treasurer; Mr. P. N. Quartermain; secretary, Mr, W. H. Down; management committee, Messrs. R. Grade, H. Throp, A. E. Preston,' C. Bellamy, G. Strack', I. Gunn and C. C. Holland.
