JAPAN INDICTED
NEW BRITISH NOTE
ALLEGED UNFAIRNESS OVER OIL MONOPOLY
Press Association —Copyright London, April 30
The new British Note to Tokio regarding the oil monopoly in Manchukuo rejects the Japanese contentions as invalid and regrets that instead of using its authority to ensure the fulfilment of assurances regarding the open door in Manchuria and treaty obligations Japan has attempted to justify an action involving a clear breach of these assurances and obligations. The Note concludes that those responsible for the Manchukuv, oil monopoly law must also be held responsible by the British Government for the losses it will entail for British interests.
