ITALIAN ALLEGATION THIRTY-ONE NEW SHIPS PROGRAMME OUTLINED Press Association —Copyright Reed Today, 1.10 p.m. Rome, April 30, The Giornale d’ltalia says that Germany has decided on a huge naval programme for 1935-36. The total tonnage will be one hundred thousand. Units will far exceed the Versailles Treaty limits. Details arc given as follow; Battleships, two of twenty thousand tons each. Cruisers, two of ten thousand tons each; one of six thousand tons. Destroyers: sixteen of 1400 tons each, Ploatilla leaders, ten of 800 tons each; also 400 to 800 ton submarines. Thus by 1038 the German naval strength will be 16G thousand tons excluding submarines.
